SUBJECT:       Grants.gov Transition to Adobe Reader

Grants.gov is the source to FIND and APPLY for Federal government grants.  The Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service (CSREES) will continue to utilize Grants.gov to post CSREES discretionary funding opportunities and, in some cases, other CSREES funding opportunities, and receive electronic applications.  Initially, in order to submit an electronic application to a Federal agency via Grants.gov a mini-software application, PureEdge Viewer, was needed to access and complete the necessary forms.  Grants.gov is currently transitioning to use of a different mini-software application, Adobe Reader version 8.1.1.

Currently, the Grants.gov plan is to no longer make available as of April 1, 2008 PureEdge for posting application packages to Grants.gov.  Grants.gov also plans to no longer accept electronic PureEdge applications as of June 30, 2008.  CSREES is in the process of establishing its own transition plan from PureEdge to Adobe given Grants.gov’s publicized dates.  Once established, CSREES will announce its plan accordingly.
